It's almost time for Pear-a-dise
Our annual free pear harvest in WA state's oldest pear orchard is on Sunday August 19th from 2-6 pm. Some highlights this year:
Family friendly activities including crafts, wading pool and Barbo the Clown!
Tasty pear treats from Bar del Corso, Traveler's Thali House, Cafe Bengodi and Perhilion.
Up for raffle this year gift certififcates from Fresh Flours and Urban Garden & Feed.
Live music from Cantatorium, female vocal ensemble performing a concert inspired by A Midsummer Night's Dream
Beacon Arts will be exhibiting the "Blue Skies Trails" Murals which illustrate airplane noise in our neighborhood.
Talk to garden experts like the Master Gardeners and learn more about local community groups such as Friends of Lewis Park and your local Garden Club chapter.
We are still looking for volunteers to help out. We will be having one last planning meeting on Tuesday, August 14th, 7pm at my house. Email me for directions to the meeting or if you would just like to volunteer.
Show off your baking/cooking skills with pear dishes for the event. The pears are falling now and we can use some chefs!
