Ciao tutti -

A reminder that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Dante Alighieri Society is next Wednesday, April 11, 2018. I want to urge all the members to come out and participate.

The business agenda will consist as usual of:

the President's Report
the Treasurer's Report
Member Feedback Discussion
the Nominating Committee Report and
Elections for the 2018-2019 Board.

The formal meeting will be preceded by a Pizza Party - Tutta Bella pizza, salad and dessert - all at no charge to members and their guests. Wine will be provided for the Party as well.

And you'll have the chance to win our door prize - two tickets to the Lidia Bastianich lecture at the Seattle First Baptist Church. The tickets are provided by Seattle Arts and Lectures and are Patron Tickets which include Lidia Bastianich's new book, My American Dream: A Life of Love, Family, and Food, open seating at the front of the hall and a pre-lecture reception catered by Spinasse. If you love Italian food, you won't want to miss this chance to hear Lidia Bastianich in person. Lidia is the author of thirteen beloved cookbooks and the Emmy award-winning host of public television’s Lidia’s Kitchen.

The Pizza Party starts at 6:30 and the AGM starts at 7:30. If you plan to come for the pizza as well as the presentation, please make your reservation by 5:00pm Monday April 9 before the meeting.

The meeting will be in our usual place, The Garden House, 2336 15th Avenue South (In the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Seattle). Directions are on the DAS website: http://www.danteseattle.org/gather.html. If you want to avoid traffic snarls, you can also take Link Light Rail to the Beacon Hill Station. The Garden House is a short 5 minute walk away.

Feel free to come early to help set up the room and start visiting. And, in any case, please come.
