THE 2019 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING IS
THIS COMING WEDNESDAY, APRIL 10 at the Jefferson Park Lawn Bowling Clubhouse
Lawn Bowling at 6:00, Pizza at 7:00 and the AGM at about 7:45.
A reminder that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Dante Alighieri Society is this coming Wednesday, April 10, 2019. I want to urge all members and former members to come out and participate - give us your feedback on last year's activities, help plan for next year's and cast your ballot to elect the Board for 2019-2020.
The business agenda will consist as usual of:
the President's Report
the Treasurer's Report
Member Feedback Discussion
the Nominating Committee Report and
Elections for the 2019-2020 Board.
The formal meeting will be preceded by a Pizza Party - Bar del Corso pizza, salad and dessert - all at no charge to members and their guests. Wine will be provided for the Party as well. Please let us know how much pizza to order, by clicking on the I WILL ATTEND link below.
The AGM meeting will be at the Jefferson Park Lawn Bowling Clubhouse, 4103 Beacon Avenue South, just up the road from Garden House.
As a special treat for members and guests, there will be the opportunity - weather permitting - to take a Lawn Bowling lesson from the Club volunteers and to practice a bit before the pizza arrives. Lessons start promptly at 6:00. Note the early start time.
If you're interested in getting in touch with your Italian bocce skills, sign up for a lesson by clicking on the I WILL ATTEND link below and indicating YES for "I would like Lawn Bowling Lessons". Please respond by EOD, Saturday, April 6 so the Lawn Bowling Club has time to recruit instructors for us.
To reach the Lawn Bowling Clubhouse from Beacon Avenue South, turn west on to a road just south of the golf clubhouse, alongside the putting green. You’ll wind around a bit to reach the lawn bowling clubhouse. Parking is available near the clubhouse.
Feel free to come anytime and start visiting. And, in any case, please come.
A presto -
Dan DeMatteis,
President, Dante Alighieri Society of Washington
